When calculating the total cost for piping, the problem of 'inconsistent units' arises. One cannot multiply a value of unit € with a value of unit m. This is quite obvious since one would get a value of unit €.m. Nevertheless, the system family pipe in revit has a cost of unit €, though it should be of unit €/m.
A work-around is possible though, by converting the length to something of type unitless. Check out the following snapshots as an example.
The pipe schedule can be made more straight-forward by hiding the column 'Length_unitless'.
